This video was shot in the Sea of Cortez between Isla la Guardia and Bajia de los Angeles. While fishing we ran through a pod of several hundred dolphins. This is part of what we saw.

At first it looks like a kids game but it hides some seriously frustrating challenges. For some its a cakewalk but for most it will take awhile to complete the game. The success of Ecco the Dolphin led to its inevitable sequel "The Tides of Time." A third installment would soon see the light on the Dreamcast entitled "Ecco: Defender Of The Future" which IMO was and still is a wonderful game.

John Coltrane plays "On Green Dolphin Street" in Dusseldorf, Germany, March 1960. This is ultra rare footage featuring Coltrane with the Miles Davis Quintet of the time, sans Miles. Wynton Kelly is on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Jimmy Cobb on drums. The audio is out of sync, I'll have to try converting it to a different format and reuploading it some other time....hopefully the quality of the music will tide you over in the meantime.

This Hancock tune is usually played in a restrained, laid back style, i.e. with a "west coast cool jazz" feel. The brilliant and unusual chord changes give this piece a floating feeling that does away with the usual dynamic arcs of tension and resolution found in more traditional "I-VI-II-V-I" type jazz compositions. In order to make it sound a little bit different, I decided to play it slightly uptempo and to play the changes as if it called for the same dynamic rise and fall of more traditional tunes, even when that is not what the chords changes are calling for, at least from my perspective. Something else I try to do in order to switch it up a bit is to vary my comping between light and dense voicings. I play two or three notes that imply a chord without explicitly stating it, or I try to go really dense, with lots of color tones to obscure the underlying chord. That is pretty much what I was thinking when I played this piece.
