MatchMover and maya and cinema 4d test


Just learning MatchMover. I imported 50 camera frames in to MatchMover. MatchMover solved all automatically in less than a minute. Then I exported to both Maya and Cinema 4D and put in some primitives to see which would be easier working with MatchMover. Both C4D and Maya were pretty easy. I will put together some nice tutorials on using MatchMover with Cinema 4D and Maya. I used to use 3D Studio Max but I like Maya and C4D workflows better. Hair, Physics etc (not to mention Mayas cool paint effects)in Maya and C4D are much easier for me than Max. But thats just me. Please email me at growthweb@yahoo.com if you want to chat. Quick test using Maya 3D software and Matchmover for the camera tracking. I have lots to learn but will create tutorials for what Iam learning. Just email me at growthweb@yahoo.com. The camera tracking was all automatic and super easy. Walkerman is a free script for Maya that creates instant skeletons of human and animals loaded with movemtents that you can control. I took a human mesh and within 10 minutes had a skelton applied with walking. Easy change the walking to running etc. Way too easy. did a motion track from a handheld camera. Once I tracked the shot in Match Mover Pro, I took it into Maya and added some basic geometry to show that the shot was tracked correctly.

Motion Capture Test


Home brew motion capture using 3 sony hdr-hc1 cams and matchmover I managed to capture the performance of my friend Tod and apply it to character studio's biped. Using white pieces of packing material strapped on to a diving suit and a cyclist suit I managed to get footage for matchmoving. Then by tracking each marker on the home made suit from three angles matchmover gave a moving point cloud. I then expoerted this through deepexploration software and made a marker position mocap file which I had to translate through software so I could further convert it into limb rotation data. This was then loaded into a biped structure in 3dsmax. The resulting file could be loaded into any character studio biped.
