I discovered that due to technical video problems in her first set at Blues Alley in Washington DC USA,There is not a video in existance of Eva performing her version of Fields Of Gold. Eva is no longer with us now. Therefore, I have edited clips of Eva, slowed them down, and set them to her beautiful version of Fields Of Gold. I hope you enjoy this clip as it is probably the closest we will ever get, short of having been there in Washington that night, to seeing Eva perform this beautiful song. Note: I scoured the planet and this is the only video version you will probably find of her performing this song. sting-fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we walk in fields of gold So she took her love for to gaze awhile Upon the fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me, will you be my love Among the fields of barley? We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we lie in fields of gold See the west wind move like a lover so Upon the fields of barley Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth Among the fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold Many years have passed since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down Among the fields of gold You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold

Sting - Fields of Gold

Hi LEA !!!:-)

"Fields of Gold" by Eva Cassidy

Here is another of my all time favorite romantic songs . . . Eva Cassidy's version of "Fields of Gold". I mentioned this in another recent video, but the world lost this beautiful singer when she died WAYYY before her time at the age of 33 from cancer in 1996. (It's why I truly believe that you have to focus on each day of your life . . . you never know when your "personal time clock" will stop ticking.) The other sad thing is that Eva, during her life, was almost totally unknown outside her home area of Washington D.C. and became famous only after her death. The British newspaper "The Guardian" later went on to describe her as "one of the greatest voices of her generation." Her posthumously released recordings have since sold in excess of four million copies, and in early 2001 the compilation album Songbird reached #1 on the UK album charts. It's so sad she never lived to see the recognition she deserved . . . I hope you enjoy her music as much as I do! Here are the links to a wonderful three part series about Eva and her music that was on the American TV show "Nightline"; the series reconfirms the incredible impact her music had, and STILL has on the world: Part One http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd9pWLrjyUg Part Two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6EelwKYLEU Part Three http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWbTi66Fvj0 The photos for this video are ones I took in England on various trips and from when I used to live over there. The primary castle shown in the video is Arundel Castle, in Arundel, West Sussex, England . . . I love wandering around old castles in Europe and visualizing the dozens of generations of people who have lived & died in them . . . it's amazing to look at stone steps in the castles that have been worn down simply from the thousands of people who have used them over the centures . . . it's also always eerie to visualize the battles that were fought at the castles and contrast those battles with the peaceful tranquility around these castles today . . . The Arundel castle was "remodeled" and expanded around 1300AD, and the initial castle built around 1100AD . . . it's always interesting to me how castles were often times remodeled WELL before the United States was even in EXISTENCE! :) For more info on Arundel Castle (one of my favorite castles for wandering around :) ) please check out: http://www.arundelcastle.org/_pages/01_castle.htm In addition to the castle (which also has a restaurant), the grounds include a beautiful old chapel, and gardens, and the town of Arundel is the quintessential old English town, so yeah, I highly recommend this beautiful place if you ever get to this part of England :) and for castle history buffs, this website has lots of detailed info on the Arundel Castle: http://www.castles-abbeys.co.uk/Arundel-Castle.html

Green Fields of France

This is my tribute to those who fought in World War One, in fact all vets of all wars. As a solider, I know the waste of war first hand and WW I was one of the most wasteful. But at the same time, I know you must fight for your freedoms. Eric Bogle wrote the song, Green Fields of France, also known as No Man's Land. Piet Chielens, coordinator of the In Flanders Fields War Museum in Ypres, Belgium, once checked all 1,700,000 names that are registered with the Commonwealth War Commission. He found no less than ten Privates William McBride. The song is covered by the group Dropkick Murphy.

The Fureys - Green Fields of France - WW1 Memorial

http://www.tarawatch.org:80/ (Help save TARA and sign the petition) Lyrics By:http://ericbogle.net/index.htm Sung By: The Fureys with Davey Arthur http://www.greatwar.ie We cherish too, the Poppy red That grows on fields where valor led, It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies The Great War ushered in the 20thCentury. It was "The War To End All Wars,"- a senseless slaughter that set the stage for the bloodiest century in human history. Yet, it was more than just a war between nations. It was a war between what was and what was to be. The "old world" was dying, and the new world had yet to be born. People of all classes and nations saw it as some great cleansing fire that would accelerate this battle and lead to a better world. But, when it was over, more than men had died in the mud of the battlefields. The naive dreams of progress, along with the innocence of the pre-war world, faith in God, and hope in the future all died in the trenches of Europe. Tony Novosel
